As a result, the celestial body becomes a brown dwarf substellar, but no longer a planet. It is estimated that this upper limit is equal to 13 Jupiter masses or more.

The authors of the new definition will present it to the court of the International Astronomical Union at the IAU General Assembly in August 2024. Most likely, it will take several years to discuss and finally change the definition of the planet.
